The medal of Honor from the Sports Film Festival was awarded to Heshmat Mohajerani.

The Secretary of the 14th International Sports Film Festival of Iran honored Heshmat Mohajerani, a distinguished and prominent figure in Iranian football.

Dr. Seyed Mojtaba Alavi honored Heshmat Mohajerani for his years of tireless efforts and services in Iranian football during the ceremony held on Thursday noon (October 3th) at the Shandiz Jordan Restaurant Hall, recognizing the members of Iran’s national football team from the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.

The ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Hassan Roshan, Amir Ghalenoei, Hadi Naraqi, Ebrahim Qasempour, Hamid Estili, Hossein Faraki, Samad Marfavi, wrestling champion Ebrahim Javadi, Kazem Olyaee, Dr. Zademehr, and numerous other veterans from traditional and various sports disciplines, as well as journalists. Unfortunately, there was no presence from the football federation officials at this football gathering.

It Is worth mentioning that in 2020, during the closing ceremony of the 12th International Sports Film Festival of Iran, Heshmat Mohajerani, the former head coach of Iran’s national football team, was honored as a distinguished figure in the field of sports for his many years of valuable efforts. Due to his absence from the ceremony because of illness and being away from home, Khodadad Azizi attended on his behalf and received the festival’s awards and certificates. In this ceremony, which was attended by the then Minister of Sports and Youth and officials from the National Olympic Committee, Heshmat Mohajerani gave a few minutes of an online video speech, praising the Sports Film Festival and emphasizing that such cultural, artistic, and sports events are very important in introducing champions, creating role models, and encouraging youth towards sports.

During this ceremony, a commemorative stamp of him, printed by the National Post Company, was presented to him, and the festival’s Medal of Honor, adorned with the sacred flag of the Islamic Republic, was pinned to the chest of the prominent football figure.
